I currently accept Aetna, Optum, Cigna and HSA in FL, VA., and SD. I am in network with Anthem BCBS only in VA. I am an out-of-network provider for other insurance companies. Many patients have "out-of-network" insurance coverage and most sessions are usually covered at a percentage of what is "reasonable and customary" in their geographical area, based on your individual plan. In order to do take advantage of this coverage, you pay for each visit out-of-pocket, and then file for reimbursement directly with your insurance company. I will provide the necessary documentation so that you are able to file with your insurance company for direct reimbursement.You may wish to contact your insurance company prior to engaging in therapy to determine what the “out-of-network coverage” may be as well as their rate of reimbursement. Please be sure to inform them that you intend to see a licensed mental health counselor in Earlysville, VA You may also want to provide your insurance carrier with the correct procedure code for this service (for ex., 90837 is typical for a 53-minute individual therapy session).

As a LMHC, I am not able to prescribe medication. I can, however provide referral to psychiatrists in the area.

This will vary depending on presenting concerns, level of participation, and other factors. Therapy can last as little as 3 months to years.

You will receive an email with a link to my "portal" prior to our session. This will have consents that can be signed anytime prior to our meeting. If using insurance you will receive an email from either Headway or Alma to complete your insurance information at least 48 hours in advance. You will need to bring your ID to our first session and be in a confidential location.
